WEAY WANG

Lacquer & Mother-of-Pearl

1631. The first harvest from a lacquer tree.

A drop of raw sap. A promise sealed in time.

For four hundred years, the Wang family has done one thing: taking nature’s slowest gift and turning it into silent beauty — layer by layer, grain by grain, with mother-of-pearl inlaid like stars into the night.

Once, these pieces sat only on emperor’s tables. Today, we make them for your tea, your wrist, your ears… and the gifts you choose with care.

WEAY WANG does not revive antiques. We let lacquer and shell live again — in your everyday.

Dark. Shiny. For today.
Your table, Your style, Your gift.
About us

Nature’s Slow Gift

- Nature’s Slow Gift: Lacquer is rare.

It flows drop by drop from trees that take years to mature — only a few grams can be harvested each season. That is nature’s slowest gift.

To turn raw sap into a finished piece takes months of patience. Dozens of layers, each dried and polished by hand. No shortcuts. No machines can replace the human touch.

Why go through all this?

Because lacquer is unlike any other material. It breathes. It ages beautifully. It develops a deep, mirror-like glow that ceramic or glass cannot match.

It feels warm in your hands, lasts for years, and only gets better with use. This is not mass production. This is slow creation — made to be used, and treasured.

- The Quiet Legacy of the WANGs

For centuries, the Wangs kept this craft alive — not for fame, but because they believed beauty was worth the wait.

Their work once graced imperial courts. The finest lacquer was reserved for emperors, inlaid with mother-of-pearl like stars in the night sky. But over time, the craft nearly disappeared.

Then a new generation decided to pick it up again.

Not to lock it in a museum, but to let it live. Today, WEAY WANG is run by descendants who returned to their roots. We work with local artisans, support our village, and share this ancient beauty with the world — one piece at a time. This is not a revival. It is a continuation.

- For the Life You Already Live

We do not make objects for palace walls. We make them for your morning tea, your favorite earrings, and the gift boxes you tie with care.

WEAY WANG uses the same techniques as the Ming dynasty masters — the same layering, the same mother-of-pearl inlay, the same deep black that only dozens of coats can create.

But we give them clean, simple forms that belong on a modern table, a modern wrist, a modern celebration.

Our pieces are not antiques. They are companions.

They hold your tea, catch the light as you turn your head, and quietly shape the atmosphere of your everyday.

The deepest black. The brightest shimmer. Made slowly, for your life.

The Quiet Legacy of the WANGs

The story began in 1631, when an ancestor of the Wang family first harvested lacquer from a mountain tree.
